The Lord of the Rings - the commissioned sketch cards

I think our major work and the stuff we are most known for are these batch of cards.  The first 80 or 90 or so cards are the cards we did together in 2007 before we became "official" artists for Topps sketch cards AND official LUCASFILM artists.   These were so much fun to paint and very memorable.  

2008 Lord of the Rings Sketch Cards 

 We have only had the time to do just a mere handful of Lord of the Rings sketch cards so far for 2008.  But I think we have greatly improved from the early days of our collaborative work.  You can see we worked on making our art better and bringing more emotion to our portraits as well as more variety, brighter colors, stronger likenesses, backgrounds and more details and it didn't hurt to toss out the 80 dollar all in one scanner/printer and get a real scanner to scan our artwork with!

We did one sketch card 12 carder on all 24 people in the Council of Elrond called "the Fate of the Ring" and a neat 4 carder of the "Last Alliance", which in the movies, you never see the alliance leaders all together, so we decided to put them all together!  Gil-Galad, Elrond, Elendil and Isildur.

We are planning to spend a few more months later in the year doing more work of Middle-Earth.
